Already overwhelemd by the amount of studying materials.
SO much and so comprehensive, that I don't know where to start.

Strategically plan the process.

I made a daily plan to go over accounting journal articles from top4 journals. Ok.. Top5 is kind of hard to imagine. Top4 already are a lot of reading. Do not overdo.. Especially, those academic articles are similarly structured, and current issues are pretty much the same and similarly recognized by authors,, so I assume there should be a balance among journals over those importaant issues. Not one journal heavily focusing on one part, while others putting a heavy emphasis on different, totally different issues THey sholud possess and present similarity. Top4 would be enough.!

When I asked professors, they subsume we need to know at least 2 years back to each of journals..and keep us current on those covered. However, I would go little bit further. I guess that's better.
Also, make an index card to organize articles by topics and keywords. I guess this is the key to well planned study.
Otherwise, overflowing ideas will only overwhelm me and reading all these craps :-( does not really help me.

1. Accounting Review 5 vols annually
2. Journal of Accounting Research 4 vols per year
3. Journal of Accounting and Economics 4 vols per year.
4. Contemporary Accounting Research 4 vols per year
Each journal includes about 10articles per each volume. So, approximately,170 articles per year. IF I do it for articles dating 2 years back, it's gonna be 340 articles..Man.. SO much!

I initially planned to read at least 4 years back, but okay..are you kidding? too much.
I have, how many days left? MY comps will be held at the last week of July, exactly 12 weeks left.. Oh my.. 84 days. including TODAY.. man man.. after counting out several days that I inevitably need to be on the wagon, and on the plane..okay.. to the maximum, let say,  I have 80 days .. hmm. maybe 70days. .

340 / 70 = 4.857...

okay, so I need to read at least 5 articles per day.. under my most generous studying plan.
If I extend the scope of materials to cover up to 4 years back.. that means doubling the reading work..10 articles per day..
Not that bad ? YEp.. Oh, I did not count out days to wrap up all works I've done, and memorize, and formulate the strutured kowledge base in my brain. need to read more after this!

For this semester, I read 6 articles per week on a regular basis to prepare for the seminar works, not to mention related articles I select to read.. And that was a heck of work. Just scheming through each without really a deep understanding, it wasn't that big a deal. But if I read with the intention to understand thoroughly what this arrticle talks about, I need to really devote my all attention and time to this reading .. As I read more and more, reading comprehension will be accerelated for sure, but that is not guarantteed. I'm talking about those least flexible, and least interesting articles in the world.!

Also, on top of current issues of journals, I need to go back to several decades ago to look for classical materials.
Additionally, Journal of finance, and Journal of financial economics.. need to be included in the list.. Ahhh

How about behavioral works? It' s not totally covered in the major issues of journals, so I need to look for AOS (Accounting organization and society) .. for further reading..

Too less time..

Oh, also should not forget about analytical stuffs. I need to go over all my seminar materials.. game theory, utility maximization, prospect theory..theory after theory.. Need to know how to prove some mathematical agnecy models..

MAn..Everything challenges me. It's a phd world.. Can't escape without this procss I know that...
Calm down, and be ready to work.. can u do that?
NOw I really feel the pressure!
